Contact El Paso Tax Law

The fastest route to an answer is a phone call, because the first thing that needs establishing is which deadline is running in your file. Consultations are free. Call (915) 465-9303.

Before you call

Have Your Most Recent IRS Notice in Front of You

This single step changes the quality of the first conversation more than anything else. The balance matters less than the letters, because the notice number and its date establish exactly where you sit in the collection sequence and how much time remains.

A CP504 and a Letter 1058 produce very different advice. The first is a serious notice that is nonetheless still early in the process. The second opens a 30-day window to request a Collection Due Process hearing, and that window is the difference between suspending levy action with a right of judicial review and losing both. If you have the envelope, the postmark matters too.

If the notices have been lost or discarded, that is workable. Account transcripts can be pulled directly from the IRS once a power of attorney is on file, and they show every assessment, every penalty, and the collection statute expiration date for each year. It simply takes a few days longer to get to the same picture.

What the First Conversation Covers

Consultation in progress with notices and records laid out on the table
Bring your most recent notice. Fifteen minutes usually establishes where you stand.

The consultation is free and takes about twenty minutes. It is triage, not a pitch.

  • Which notices you have received, and what the most recent one means about time remaining.
  • Whether enforcement is already active, meaning a wage levy, a frozen bank account, or a recorded lien. A bank levy in particular carries a 21-day hold, and that is the entire window.
  • How many years are unfiled, since filing compliance is a prerequisite to every resolution program.
  • Roughly what the household earns and spends, which is the first indication of which programs your numbers could support.
  • Whether the matter is legal rather than financial, which changes the order of operations and who you should speak to first.

You will leave that call knowing what is on a deadline and what your realistic options are, whether or not you engage the firm.

Office, Hours, and Service Area

The office sits on Rojas Drive on the far east side, at the 79936 postal area, and is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. In-person meetings are available by appointment for anyone who prefers one.

Most matters never require a visit. Federal tax representation is established by a filed Form 2848 and worked with the IRS by correspondence and phone, so documents are exchanged electronically as a matter of routine. That is how the firm serves households throughout the westside, the Mission Valley, the far east county, the Lower Valley, and across the state line in Doña Ana County. A full list is on the service area page.

Consultations are conducted in English and Spanish.

If a bank levy is already in place

Call rather than email. The bank holds the funds for 21 days from the date it receives the levy, and everything that can be done has to happen inside that window. This is the one situation where reaching the firm the same day genuinely changes the outcome.

Public Resources Worth Knowing

Not every question needs a lawyer, and a few authoritative sources answer a great deal on their own. The IRS publishes a plain-language overview of options for taxpayers who owe a balance. Households of modest means with a genuine dispute may qualify for free assistance through a Low Income Taxpayer Clinic, and the Taxpayer Advocate Service maintains the directory. Municipal services and local records for the city are handled by the City of El Paso, and county-level records including property and deed filings sit with El Paso County.

If you would rather read before calling, the resource library covers the programs in depth, and the firm page explains how engagements are structured and priced.
